PVY Z20 MAX Folding Dual Battery Electric Bike

The PVY Z20 MAX is a folding electric bike built around an upgraded 6061 aluminium frame and 20 × 2.3-inch tyres. Its compact folding construction is designed for commuting, everyday transport and easier storage, while the rear rack, mudguards and adjustable cockpit add practical functionality. The bike combines a relatively compact wheel format with full suspension and a dual-battery electrical system for longer-distance riding.

Electric assistance is provided by a 250W brushless geared hub motor producing a published 80Nm of torque. A torque sensor responds to rider input to provide more proportional pedal assistance, while five pedal-assist levels allow the amount of motor support to be adjusted. Shimano 7-speed gearing provides mechanical gear selection, and the standard motor-assisted speed is limited to 15.5 mph.

The Z20 MAX uses a dual-battery system consisting of a 36V 15Ah frame battery and a 36V 10.6Ah external battery, giving a combined nominal capacity of 25.6Ah. The manufacturer publishes an electric-mode range of approximately 75 miles and a maximum pedal-assist range of approximately 124 miles under suitable riding conditions.

Actual range varies according to rider weight, total payload, assistance level, throttle use, gradients, average speed, tyre pressure, temperature, wind, road surface and stopping frequency. Continuous electric-mode riding increases battery consumption compared with regular pedal assistance, while steady rider input and moderate assistance can extend distance. The 124-mile figure therefore represents the maximum published pedal-assist range rather than a fixed distance for every journey.

The Z20 MAX combines 20 × 2.3-inch tyres with a front shock-absorbing fork and a dedicated rear shock, giving the bike a full-suspension configuration. This setup is designed to reduce vibration and impacts over uneven surfaces while maintaining the compact proportions of the folding frame. The 6061 aluminium chassis provides the structural base for the suspension system and dual-battery layout.

Hydraulic brakes provide braking control, while the Shimano 7-speed drivetrain uses a 48T crankset for mechanical gear selection. Equipment includes a colour LCD display, 1200-lumen front light, integrated rear light with brake-light functionality, rear rack, mudguards and throttle mode. Published bike weight is approximately 60 lb, while the maximum stated load is approximately 265 lb.
